Captain Brandon Tull
Biography
Captain Brandon Tull is the Recruiting Officer and Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies at Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 055, University of California Los Angeles. He is responsible for leading, recruiting, training, counseling, and evaluating Air and Space Force officer candidates in their preparation to commission as officers.
Captain Tull commissioned in the Air Force in 2018 via the Virginia Tech’s Reserve Officer Training Corps program. Upon arriving at Vandenberg Space Force Base, he served as a Flight Commander within the 381st Training Support Squadron communication flight, where he led a nine-person team in the design of a $165,000 solution for technical school classes, enabling creative learning with the newest technology all students. Since completing the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile initial skills training in 2019, he has held a variety of missile combat crew positions. As the acting flight commander at the 320th Missile Squadron at F.E. Warren AFB, he led a 19-person team resulting in 10 squadron and group level awards. Captain Tull was also a Minuteman III instructor in the 319th Missile Squadron, providing 174 hours of instruction and leading a team of five officers to create an in-depth training plan. Additionally, he was the project officer for a $98-million nuclear modernization program training 67 officers on installation of components that will extend the Minuteman III weapon system by 10 years. Later, as Emergency War Order Planner at the 90th Operations Support Squadron, Captain Tull managed and monitored all targeting activities for the nation’s ICBMs, as well as maintained operations group control orders and nuclear command and control documents. Prior to his current position, Capt Tull was a flight commander in the 320th Missile Squadron, where he directly oversaw 25 officers and five enlisted members.
