Tech Sergeant Irene Salas
Biography
Technical Sergeant Irene L. Salas is an Officer Training Instructor, assigned to Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 055, University of California, Los Angeles. She serves as the detachment Key Enlisted Leader and primary enlisted advisor to the detachment commander/Professor of Aerospace Studies (PAS) on cadet academics, professional development programs, military training, and discipline. She also promotes the health, welfare, and morale for all assigned cadets and accomplishes administrative tasks associated with developing, training, and commissioning cadets. Finally, she assists the PAS and Assistant PAS in educating cadets on AFROTC curriculum to include, but not limited to, character, honor, general military skills, and human relations
TSgt Salas hails from Moreno Valley, CA. She graduated from Moreno Valley High School and began her Air Force career in 2006. Over her career as a Services professional, she has held a wide range of positions, ranging from food service and fitness specialist to First Term Airmen Center team lead, lodging manager, Mortuary Affairs technician, and section chief of Readiness, Plans and Programs. She completed her Community College of the Air Force degree in Fitness and Services Management in 2013.
