Why Air Force ROTC?
It is a challenge. It is an opportunity. It is a head-start on a lifetime of success, within the Air Force and in everything you choose to do. Air Force ROTC is a college program offered at over 1000 colleges and universities across the U.S. that prepares you to become an Air Force or Space Force officer. What does this mean to you? It means:
- The opportunity to get the money you need for college
- Making the most out of your college experience and your life
- The chance to earn a college degree while working toward becoming an officer in the United States Air Force or Space Force
- The chance to experience once-in-a-lifetime opportunities
But know it will not be easy. Air Force ROTC provides you with a challenging program to hone your time management, physical fitness and analytical skills – and helps you push yourself to achieve your goals.
Step 1: Review the program requirements
If you’re interested in joining the Air Force ROTC program, explore our website and review the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) section. This will provide you with a solid understanding of what the program entails and answer many common questions.
Step 2: Fill out the Interest Form
All interested students must fill out the interest form linked below. We will follow up with additional information and add you to our roster for New Student Orientation. New Student Orientation is your opportunity to learn and ask questions about AFROTC. It is also where you start your journey, should you choose to pursue a commission in the U.S. Air Force or Space Force!
Step 3: Create online profile (WINGS) & Fill out necessary information
*IMPORTANT* If you already have a WINGS account (HSSP applicants, prior applicants, etc.), please use your existing login to apply. Click the link below to visit WINGS and select “Apply for AFROTC.” Download the guide below for step-by-step instructions. In addition, during the application you will need to report any past offenses, violations of law or ordinance, or any other adverse involvements with civil, military, or school authorities. This includes parking and speeding tickets, even if they were dismissed and were not officially reported on your record! Write down your WINGS username and password! You will need it throughout your AFROTC career. If you’ve applied to the program via WINGS, you still must contact the Det via the interest form.
