Biography

Lieutenant Colonel Bryan Davis is the Commander, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 055 and Professor and Chair of the Aerospace Studies Department at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he leads a cadre of instructors and support staff responsible for recruiting, training, and commissioning Air and Space Force officer candidates via a comprehensive college program.

Lt Col Davis received his commission in June 2008 through AFROTC. After completing Intelligence Officer Training in May 2009, he was assigned as an Intelligence Officer to the 55th Pararescue Squadron, Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz. Since then, Lt Col Davis has served in diverse operational intelligence assignments spanning counter-drug operations, classified counter-space systems acquisitions, and worldwide combat and humanitarian C-17A Globemaster III airlift and airdrop operations. He is a graduate of both the Naval Postgraduate School and the Defense Language Institute, and previously served as the Advisor on European and African Regional Affairs to the Commander, Air Mobility Command.

Lt Col Davis has deployed overseas on multiple occasions, supporting U.S. Joint Special Operations Command during Operation Iraqi Freedom as well as French Special Operations Task Forces in the Sahel under Operation Barkhane. He previously served as a Policy Advisor to the U.S. Ambassador to NATO and represented the United States on NATO’s Council Operations and Exercises Committee (COEC). Prior to his current position, Lt Col Davis was Commander of the 331st Recruiting Squadron.
